Is The NSW Iemma Government Guilty of a Massive cover up?
It appears that a massive smokescreen to cover up the questionable behaviour by Panning Mnister Frank Sartor and indeed the Premier himself involving political donations in which they were alleged to have received from developers prior to the last election according to several major media reports. They added that both Frank Sartor and Premier Iemma received cheques from major developers, carrying their names, rather than the NSW Labor Party. This is a complete conflict of interest. We believe the taxpayers of NSW are entitled to a transparent government. We feel this can only become a reality by Kevin Rudd setting up a public, independent inquiry into the state Labor Government, with the widest terms of reference.
The inquiry must pursue the reason Frank Sartor and his Department of Planning continue to push their high rise, high density policy without having the necessary infrastructure in place. The following should be part of the subpoena; Frank Sartor, Premier Iemma, Joe Tripodi, John Hatzistergos, Reba Meagher, Joe Scimone, Sarkis Nassif, Glen Tabak, Noreen Hay, Beth Morgan, Frank Vellar and Michael Kollaris. In addition Former Premier Bob Carr and the sacked Liverpool City Councillors can be called to give evidence relating to the Oasis Development and the Orange Grove fiasco. Failure to have this inquiry could make one believe that the state of NSW is being controlled by the ‘MAFIA’.
The Government has ensured that the five union and community representatives- four of whom are likely to oppose privatisation- are out numbered by supporters. Union leaders refused to comment publicly on the plan last night, but one of the state’s most senior officials warned that the proposal was designed to appear ‘democratic’, by aiming the sale at individual rather than institutional investors, but it remained a
privatisation of a public asset.
The following articles, by the Sydney Telegraph’s Joe Hildebrand “Huge Cost of Power sell- off’ and the Sydney Morning Herald’s Marion Wilkinson’s ‘Electricity polluters seek a free pass’, should terrify every concerned Australian, not only for themselves, but for the future of their children and grandchildren.
