SARTOR REPORTED TO ICAC

Planning Minister Frank Sartor has been reported to the “so called” States corruption watchdog on whether he interfered in a development by a major Labor Party donor.

Property developer Stockland allegedly asked Frank Sartor to intervene in a development dispute with Wollongong City Council over an environmentally sensitive site at Sandon Point.

Documents on ABC’s Stateline on Friday 18, 2008 show Stockland which donated $133,000 to Labor in the years before the 2007 election, said they were unhappy with the Council’s approach.

Frank Sartor told his department to investigate and to advise him.  The Council sought $4 million for a plot of land on the site and the department recommended no intervention.

However, with Frank Sartor as the approval authority, Stockland was required to pay just $700,000.

The matter appeared before the Land and Environment Court, which overturned the development approval.. Frank Sartor has appealed this decision.

We have lost count how many allegations have been directed at Frank Sartor involving development applications with Labor Party donors by developers.

Because ICAC is funded by the NSW State Government to avoid any possible conflict, the Rudd Federal Government should intervene and set up an Independent Inquiry (public) into every development application that Frank Sartor has personally been involved in especially, where Labor controlled Councils have been named
