If it’s good for the Party

 

It is interesting to hear NSW Liberal Party president Geoff Selig advocating proportional representation for his own party internally.  Why should he not advocate this system for all elections, Federal and State.

 

Labor’s John Faulkner is advocating electoral reform to restore democracy in the nation, but why doesn’t he advocate proportional representation?

 

The electoral system that we have is highly undemocratic:  A single member district system modified by preferential voting, which is quite unlike proportional representation based on multi member electoral districts.

 

The backward state of Australia’s electoral system is becoming both a debacle and an embarrassment
