HOWARD GOVERNMENT ILLEGALLY ALTERS THE CONSTITUTION

Behind the backs of the Australian population without any mention in the mass media or serious opposition in parliament, the Howard Government has introduced sweeping new electoral laws that aim to suppress any electoral challenge to the mainstream political parties. The Howard Government, in conjunction with the ALP,Nationals,     Democrats and Greens have passed an Electoral bill that virtually knocks out all political parties that don't have a sitting member, This in fact amounts to the removal of all Australian voters democratic rights to a free choice in voting for a representative to Parliament.

THE CONSTITUTION

The Constitution House of Representatives Section 24. The House of Representatives shall be composed of members directly chosen by the people of the Commonwealth,......

Both Houses of Parliament at Section 41. NO adult person who has or acquires a right to vote at elections for the more numerous House of the Parliament of a State shall, while the right continues, be prevented by any law of the Commonwealth from voting at elections for either House of the Parliament of the Commonwealth. The legislation entitled Electoral and Referendum Amendment (Electoral Integrity and other measures). Act 2006 automatically de-registers all non ­parliamentary parties and blocks the registration of new ones while systematically disenfranchising hundreds of thousands of ordinary voters.

FREEDOM OF CHOICE

The freedom of choice for voters to choose who they want has

effectively been denied contrary to what the Constitution provides and this will make diabolical inroads to the people's rights of "free choice."

If the government has taken this highly provocative step towards turning this nation into a dictatorship then there is obviously a lit more going on behind the scenes than the mainstream media is telling the people about, because they darned sure didn't tell the people about this legislation which takes away so many of our fundamental rights in voting for a candidate or party of our own choosing

This is of course not really so new, through the manipulations of government and the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) they have had a very tight control over the peoples' vote for a number of years, exercised under the two party preferred system which made it extremely hard for the individual vote to be counted where the voter intended it to go and invariably finished up going to one of the major parties. Now, under this new system the only way to remove a 'sitting' party will be to elect sufficient Independents (with huge vote numbers) to ensure that sufficient sitting party members lose their seat in order that the number of Independents make up the majority and with time increase their numbers and destroy the current government parties completely.
