MORE NSW LABOR GOVERNMENT BLUNDERS

AS if this state hasn't suffered enough. Even if the NSW Government were to somehow be thrown out of office today, we would still be paying for its blunders for years to come.

We mean that literally. The cost of electricity in NSW is soaring and the reasons for this can be blamed on successive Labor governments and their mishandling of this state's power infrastructure.

Some households, even though they include a reliable wage-earner and follow sensible budgets, can expect to face genuine financial difficulties due to the outrageous extent of these price hikes.

It's a simple matter of working out the maths, as today demonstrates. When electricity hurtles upwards in cost by such a serious amount, cuts must be made. Worryingly, some residents may be forced to reduce food and grocery purchases just to cover power bills.

Consider, too, the dilemma of parents having to choose between school fees and household power. Or choosing between electricity and elective surgery.

This legacy of failure will linger for a very long time. The inability of successive governments to monitor and modernise our power supply could lead to NSW entering a virtual Dark Age.
