VAILE’S PRIVATE DINNER
A Report by Glen Milne in the Sunday Telegraph July 1, 2007 said Deputy Prime Minister Mark Vaile has admitted to being bankrolled by a shady fundraiser linked to the sacking of a major Council.
Idwall Richards is inviting donors to contribute $3,000 to the National Party to attend a private dinner with Mark Vaile and the party’s candidate in Richmond, Sue Page.
Mr. Richards was adversely named in a 2005 State Government inquiry that found he helped trick voters into electing a team of pro business candidates on to Tweed Shire Council. The revelations could tip the must win seat of Richmond against John Howard, at the next Federal Election.
Mr. Richards was a key player in the rorting of the 2004 Tweed Shire Council election that led to the establishment of the Daly inquiry. Asked whether he denied any wrongful activity Mr. Richards replied “absolutely.” “There was nothing indictable out of that Daly report. I haven’t been indicted and nor has anyone else.”
