MIGRANT WORKERS FLOOD BRITAIN

More than a third of a million migrant workers from Eastern Europe have flooded into Britain in less than two years, the Government admitted in the first week of march 2006. The influx is enough to fill Bristol, and forty times more than Tony Blair said would come when the European Union (E.U) expanded in May 2004. It shatters his promise to control the stream of workers from former Eastern Bloc Nations seeking a better life as they continue to flock to Britain in their tens of thousands each month. The figures echo the warnings that Government Ministers had grossly under-estimated the number of people who would take advantage of their new E.U passports to head for our shores. Critics said the Government had no grasp of the situation which has seen numbers leap by 50,000 in just three months. Sir Andrew Green, chairman of the Think Tank Migration Watch U.K. asked; "When will the government realise that this is a small overcrowded island?" the official figures showed a total of 345,410 Eastern Europeans came to Britain under the special work registration scheme in nineteen months between May 2004 and December 2005. The reality is forty times higher than the Governments estimate that between 5,000 and 13,000 would come each year an average of 9,000 annually. It means the workers outnumber the Countries 142,000 Police officers by more than two to one.

The Question we ask the Howard-Vaile Coalition, are they imitating the Tony Blair Government by their introduction of "Guest Workers" visa's for foreign visitors? Are they being utilised to fill jobs of Australian workers in an attempt to reduce wages and conditions? Is it true the foreign workers wages will be paid bank accounts in their country of origin? Australia is suffering from a lack of infrastructure, i.e. water, health, Education, transport and roads, how can we be expected to endure further hardship?
